Build and Shape a Growing PostgreSQL Estate
We're working with a technology business that develops warehouse management and automation software for customers across the logistics sector.
As part of a major platform modernisation programme, the organisation is continuing its move towards a PostgreSQL-first architecture. While a number of Oracle databases remain within the estate, PostgreSQL is the strategic platform for future development and new deployments.
They're looking for a hands-on PostgreSQL Database Administrator to take ownership of the PostgreSQL environment, support ongoing modernisation projects, and help influence the future direction of the database platform.
This isn't a role where you'll simply be maintaining existing systems. Alongside support and optimisation work, you'll be involved in upgrades, migrations, architecture improvements and database standards across a growing estate.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll split your time between:
- Supporting and optimising existing PostgreSQL environments
- Delivering project and modernisation work across the wider database platform
Key responsibilities include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
