About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Database Administrator to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of critical database systems, ensuring their optimal operation in terms of efficiency, security, and reliability. This role involves managing database performance, performing routine backups and recovery procedures, applying upgrades and patches, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, particularly with PostgreSQL databases, and have a proactive approach to database management and problem-solving.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in database management, with advanced skills in PostgreSQL and additional experience with Oracle databases. Relevant certifications in database administration or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication skills. A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency.
- Perform regular backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and security enhancements to maintain system integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to support application deployment and integration.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with data security standards and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.
