About The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Database Administrator to join our Operations Team at Valley House. This role is integral to managing and optimizing our service user data management system, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of our data, providing insights that inform decision-making, and supporting staff in utilizing the system effectively. This position offers a unique chance to contribute directly to the organization’s mission by enhancing data-driven service improvements. The role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting community services. The position is part-time, working 37.5 hours per week, with a competitive salary of £13,000 per annum, and includes benefits such as annual leave, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in data analysis, database management, and reporting. A solid understanding of relational databases, data structures, and numerical analysis is essential. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required, along with experience working with data management systems or software packages. Candidates should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and produce clear, high-quality reports. Knowledge of data protection procedures and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly are critical. A background in outcome frameworks and an understanding of statistical analysis will be advantageous. The candidate should be able to work independently, manage conflicting priorities, and demonstrate a high level of IT skills for accuracy and precision. A satisfactory DBS check is mandatory, and applicants who have resided overseas within the last five years will need to provide a certificate of good conduct from their country of residence.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the service user data management system, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with relevant data protection legislation.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support service improvement and strategic planning.
- Develop and generate regular reports, including quarterly updates for the Senior Management Team and the Board, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
- Provide training and ongoing support to staff members on the effective use of the data management system, fostering a data-aware culture within the organization.
- Support the development, review, and refinement of internal outcomes frameworks to measure and enhance service quality and impact.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure data is collected consistently and accurately, supporting quality assurance and monitoring activities.
- Ensure all data handling processes adhere to legal and organizational standards, including GDPR and Data Protection Act requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to data management and reporting systems.
- Assist in the integration of data insights into organizational decision-making processes and strategic planning.
