Salary:
- Database Administrator: £36,736
- Senior Database Administrator: £47,766
Are you passionate about database technologies and excited by the opportunity to support and modernise large-scale SQL Server environments?
We're looking for both a Database Administrator and a Senior Database Administrator to join a team undergoing a major technology transformation, helping to evolve a large Microsoft SQL Server estate while supporting the journey towards Azure SQL and cloud-based database services.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning critical database platforms.
- Supporting high availability, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Writing and reviewing T-SQL scripts.
- Automating manual processes using PowerShell and other tooling.
- Supporting Azure SQL adoption and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Working closely with technical teams to deliver reliable, secure and scalable database solutions.

What we're looking for:
- Strong SQL Server administration experience.
- T-SQL scripting skills.
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise.
- Understanding of Windows environments and database infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
For Senior Database Administrators, we're also looking for:
- Experience acting as a technical lead or subject matter expert.
- Strong automation skills using PowerShell and DBAtools.
- Experience mentoring or coaching other DBAs.
- Expertise in database strategy, capacity planning, high availability and disaster recovery.
- Ability to influence technical decisions and drive best practice across the database estate.

Nice to have:
- Azure SQL experience.
- Cloud migration project experience.
- ETL / ELT exposure.
- Power BI or Microsoft Fabric experience.
- MySQL or Azure Cosmos DB knowledge.
