Job Title: Database Infrastructure Engineer

Mode: Onsite

Location: Ashton, Northampton

Job Description

This role will involve occasional foreign travel to customer sites, and be based in our offices in the UK, near Northampton. The role includes building and maintaining IT infrastructure on customer platforms and providing support to our internal IT systems.

This includes Microsoft MSSQL and MySQL DBMS, virtualization, as well as general IT infrastructure. All systems need to run 24/7 and will adopt any forms of high availability and replication (potentially both) to aid that goal. Monitoring backups is equally important to the recovery of running systems. There is ample opportunity to grow and progress through the business, learning new skills and diversifying in role. The role will suit someone with a broad knowledge of databases and other aspects of IT, including hardware, software, and OS.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
