Role: Database Manager
Contract: Three-month contract
Redtorch manages large-scale member databases on behalf of a major international sports organisations. We are looking for someone to take ownership of the quality, structure and usability of this data. The immediate priority will be to audit, clean, standardise and enrich a large number of existing datasets, before managing their controlled migration into a new CRM.
The role will then establish the processes and governance required to maintain a reliable, usable and well-documented database over the longer term.
What you'll do
You'll lead the database work for one of our most significant client accounts. This will include:
- Auditing and consolidating multiple datasets:
- Cleaning and standardising names, organisations, countries, sports, roles and contact details.
- Identifying and resolving duplicate, incomplete and inconsistent records
- Verifying athlete and member records using agreed sources and search protocol
- Applying confidence scoring and maintaining clear verification notes
- Enriching records with relevant audience and athlete information
- Creating clear rules for managing conflicting or ambiguous data
- Producing regular updates on progress, data quality and outstanding issues
- Maintaining version control, audit trails and clear documentation
- Structuring the final database so it is ready for CRM import
- Establishing processes for maintaining data quality in the future

What you'll bring
At least three years' experience in database management, CRM operations, data quality or data migration.
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Advanced Excel skills, including cleaning, matching, deduplicating and validating data
- Experience preparing data for CRM migration or large-scale imports
- Salesforce or other CRM experience would be an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately at pace
- Confidence making and documenting decisions where data is incomplete or unclear
- Strong project-management and communication skills
- An understanding of data protection and responsible data handling
- A genuine interest in sport
