About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Manager to join Breakthrough T1D. This pivotal role sits within our Supporter Marketing and Experience team and offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of data management and strategy within the organization. As the subject matter expert for Customer Relationship Management (CRM), you will oversee the development, optimization, and governance of our supporter database systems. Your expertise will ensure that supporter data is accurate, secure, and effectively utilized to enhance fundraising efforts, supporter engagement, and operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for data-driven decision-making and a desire to make a tangible impact in the fight against type 1 diabetes.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues across various departments including Fundraising and Engagement, Digital, Brand, Finance, IT, and Supporter Care. You will lead initiatives to improve data quality, streamline processes, and implement best practices in data governance. This is a unique chance to establish robust data foundations that support our organizational ambitions and help us unlock new levels of impact and supporter experience.

Qualifications
- Proven experience managing and administering SQL databases, ideally within a charity or fundraising environment.
- Experience working with Donorfy or similar CRM platforms.
- Strong background in leading data quality initiatives and data cleansing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data governance frameworks and standards.
- Experience reviewing, automating, and improving business processes, including workflow and automation design.
- Competence in managing data imports, exports, and integration between multiple systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide strategic insights.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and administration of the supporter database, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality through regular audits, cleansing, and validation processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with IT and digital teams to ensure seamless integration of data systems and support automation efforts.
- Design and optimize workflows related to data entry, updates, and reporting to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage data imports and exports, ensuring the integrity and consistency of supporter information across platforms.
- Provide expert guidance to colleagues on CRM best practices, data segmentation, and usage to support fundraising and engagement strategies.
- Monitor and analyze data trends to inform organizational decision-making and strategic planning.
- Support training and development initiatives related to data management and CRM usage.
