Database Tech Lead
Manchester | Hybrid Working | Up to £105,000 + Benefits
The Opportunity
I'm currently working with a highly successful technology-focused organisation that is investing heavily in its data and platform capabilities. As part of that growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Database Tech Lead to take ownership of their database landscape, set the technical vision, and help develop a growing team of database professionals.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how database services are designed, managed, and evolved across a business where data underpins critical systems and services.
The Role
This position offers a strong mix of technical leadership and hands-on engineering. You'll be responsible for defining best practice, influencing technical decisions, and driving improvements across database operations, automation, and platform reliability.
Working closely with engineers, architects, and wider technology teams, you'll provide technical direction while mentoring and coaching a team that is eager to learn and develop. You'll act as the go-to database expert, ensuring systems remain secure, resilient, and scalable as the organisation continues to grow.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
