Databricks Application Training Specialist
Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Databricks Application Training Specialist based in Cambridge for an initial 6 month contract.

Job Spec:
Use deep, hands-on knowledge of the Databricks platform to design and deliver a training scheme enabling colleagues to build applications on Databricks.
Create practical, reusable learning content for two audiences:
- Analysts building lightweight applications for their teams.
- Full-stack application engineers building complex, maintainable enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Define a shared foundation and tailored training experiences for two stakeholder groups:
- Analyst pathway: For people without a full-stack software engineering background, focused on using approved patterns to build lightweight applications for team use cases.
- Application engineer pathway: For experienced engineers building larger, complex applications that need to be secure, scalable, maintainable and supported over time.

Work with Data Strategy lead, platform, data engineering, security and business stakeholders to ensure the training you develop reflects approved enterprise patterns and current Databricks capabilities.
Create resources such as:
- Lecture slides
- Facilitator and learner guides
- Reference applications
- Reusable templates
- Databricks notebooks
- Lab exercises
- Quizzes
- FAQs
- Short how-to video content
Teach the application lifecycle at the appropriate depth.
Pilot and deliver in-person and asynchronous training, together with training delivery team, for audiences ranging from beginner to advanced, using feedback to make improvements.
Key Requirements:
- Deep Databricks expertise is a requirement for this role.
- Deep, current and hands-on knowledge of Databricks, including how the platform's core capabilities work together to build, deploy, govern and operate applications.
- Technical knowledge of python based application building tools – could be streamlit, flask, react.
- A strong track record of building applications on Databricks in enterprise environments, with practical experience across data engineering, analytics and/or machine learning workflows.
- An appreciation of what makes effective in-person and online learning experiences.
- Ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear learning materials, tutorials and documentation.
- Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage both non-full-stack analysts and experienced application engineers.
- Sound understanding of the software engineering practices needed for secure, maintainable production applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.

Desirable Experience:
The following would be beneficial but are not essential:
- Experience developing and delivering enterprise technical training in classroom, hybrid or online formats.
- Experience creating instructional content, such as training videos
- Curriculum development or instructional design experience.
- Databricks certification.
