Databricks Architect / Databricks Champion

📍 Manchester or London | Hybrid Working

Up to £130k (DOE) + Bonus + Benefits

Are you the person everyone turns to when Databricks gets serious? We're looking for a Databricks Architect / Databricks Champion to lead the design and delivery of modern Data & AI platforms for enterprise clients across a range of industries.

This isn't just another architecture role. This is an opportunity to become the trusted advisor who helps organisations unlock the full power of their data, shape AI strategies, and build scalable cloud-native platforms that deliver real business value.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and implementing enterprise-scale Databricks solutions
  • Leading Data & AI platform architecture across Azure, AWS and GCP
  • Working directly with senior client stakeholders to turn business challenges into technical solutions
  • Delivering modern Lakehouse architectures, real-time analytics, AI and Machine Learning capabilities
  • Championing best practices around governance, security, performance and cost optimisation
  • Mentoring engineers and helping build a world-class Data & AI capability
  • Staying ahead of the latest Databricks innovations and bringing fresh thinking to clients

What We're Looking For

You will likely have:

  • 7+ years of experience designing and delivering modern data platforms
  • Deep hands-on Databricks expertise including:
    • Lakehouse Architecture
    • Delta Lake
    • Unity Catalog
    • Spark
    • MLflow
    • Data Intelligence Platform
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes and modern analytics platforms
  • Cloud expertise (any of the following: Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Exceptional client-facing and consulting skills
  • The ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes

Bonus Points For:

  • Databricks Champion Certification
  • Experience with AI, Generative AI and Machine Learning operationalisation
  • Power BI or Tableau experience
  • Experience in Financial Services, Insurance, Retail or Healthcare
