The opportunity:
Valcon is growing its Databricks community and we’re looking for a Databricks Architect to help clients turn data into measurable business results.
As a Databricks Elite Partner, we work on some of the most advanced data and AI projects in Europe. You’ll own the design and governance of the Databricks Lakehouse platform. You’ll set technical standards, shape data architecture, and guide engineers to build secure, cost-efficient, and scalable solutions for analytics, AI, and applications.

What you’ll do:
- Work on projects with leading organisations using Databricks to advance their AI and data strategies.
- Partner with data leaders and solution architects to align Databricks design with strategy.
- Lead, advise on and review the design of platforms, pipelines, and governance patterns.
- Gather requirements from key stakeholders in technology, data and security.
- Advise on cluster sizing, DBU optimisation, and cost allocation models.
- Support bids, proposals, and client workshops with your Databricks expertise.
- Mentor colleagues and shape Valcon’s data and cloud capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships.

You’ll collaborate closely with our partners at Databricks as well as Valcon’s internal experts.
Key Requirements
- Hands-on Data Architect with extensive experience designing and delivering solutions on the Databricks platform.
- Databricks Architect Champion certification highly desirable.
- Proven track record working with Databricks, including deep expertise in Apache Spark and the wider Databricks ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles, scalable data platforms, and modern data engineering practices.
- Experience designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions within cloud-based environments.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across data and analytics initiatives.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Databricks AI and Machine Learning capabilities, including:
- MLflow
- Mosaic AI
- OmniGen
- Genie
- Knowledge of AI/ML solution design, model lifecycle management, and MLOps best practices.
- Experience delivering AI-driven data platforms and advanced analytics solutions.
