Databricks Data Architect - London (Hybrid)

Databricks - Enterprise Architecture - Data Strategy - Up to £95,000

Are you passionate about shaping enterprise-wide Data & AI strategies and designing the modern data platforms that power business transformation?

We're looking for an experienced Databricks Architect to join a growing Data & AI practice, helping enterprise organisations modernise their data estates, define technology strategy and establish the foundations for advanced analytics, machine learning and AI.

This is a strategic architecture role focused on defining future-state platforms, establishing architectural standards and guiding organisations through complex data transformation journeys. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, technology leaders and engineering teams to design scalable, secure and future-ready data ecosystems that deliver long-term business value.

If you enjoy operating at the intersection of business strategy, enterprise architecture and modern data technologies, this is an opportunity to influence some of the most ambitious Data & AI programmes in the market.

You Will Work With

  • Defining enterprise Data & AI architecture strategies and target-state roadmaps
  • Designing modern Databricks Lakehouse and cloud-based data platforms
  • Establishing governance, security, metadata and data management frameworks
  • Leading architecture assessments, discovery workshops and strategic engagements
  • Creating scalable architectures that support analytics, machine learning and AI capabilities
  • Advising senior stakeholders on technology investments and transformation initiatives
  • Defining architecture standards, design patterns and best practices
  • Supporting cloud adoption across Azure, AWS and GCP environments
  • Working closely with engineering, analytics and AI teams to ensure successful implementation
  • Acting as a trusted advisor throughout large-scale transformation programmes

Key Experience

Essential

  • Experience defining enterprise Data Architecture strategies and roadmaps
  • Strong Databricks and Lakehouse Architecture expertise
  • Deep understanding of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and modern Data Platform design
  • Experience creating target-state architectures and modernisation strategies
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security and information architecture principles
  • Experience working across Azure, AWS or GCP environments
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence technology strategy and architectural decision-making
  • Experience supporting large-scale data transformation initiatives
