Data Engineer (Databricks / Azure) – Insurance Data Platform
A fast-growing, technology specialist insurer in the Lloyd's market is looking for a Data Engineer with strong Databricks and Azure Data Factory experience to build and run the pipelines powering its central data platform, which underpins pricing, underwriting, risk selection and AI initiatives across the business.
The successful applicant will own pipelines end to end, from ingesting data from files, APIs and databases through to curated, well-modelled datasets consumed by analysts, actuaries and data scientists via Power BI and Databricks. You'll design fact and dimension tables, handle incremental loads and change tracking, and deploy your work through established CI/CD pipelines. You'll also work closely with business stakeholders, with plenty of scope to grow into platform design over time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
