Databricks Platform Architect

Remote / Hybrid
3 month contract

Tech Stack: Databricks (Unity Catalog, DABs), Azure (ADLS Gen2, Entra ID, Key Vault, Private Link), dbt (dbt Core, dbtHub), GitHub Actions

We are seeking a hands-on, self-directed Databricks Platform Architect to lead the architecture, governance, and hands-on enablement of our enterprise data platform. Serving 20+ global markets on a shared, multi-tenant environment built on Azure and Databricks, you will design robust, scalable workspace patterns and pair directly with platform engineering teams to turn architectural vision into production reality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Architecture & Governance: Design, maintain, and secure an enterprise-scale, multi-domain workspace architecture on Databricks utilizing Unity Catalog, DABs, and Azure network isolates (VNet/Private Link).
  • Azure & Enterprise Identity: Implement enterprise identity federation using Azure Entra ID (AAD), SCIM provisioning, service principals, SSO, and group synchronization.
  • Data Engineering & dbt Governance: Oversee dbt Core / dbtHub on Databricks, enforcing data contracts, schema rules, native testing patterns, and automated CI/CD integrations via GitHub Actions.
  • Cross-Team Strategy Alignment: Collaborate closely with the EDG/Nucleus parent platform team to align core infrastructure, networking, and platform strategy.
  • Hands-On Enablement & Mentoring: Translate architectural strategy into implementation-ready designs while actively engaging in hands-on pairing with platform engineering teams to drive delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
