Databricks Solutions Architect – Contract
Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week onsite
Contract: Contract
Day Rate: Negotiable
We are looking for an experienced Databricks Solutions Architect / Implementation Specialist to join a major data transformation programme in London.
The successful candidate will have strong, hands-on experience configuring and implementing Databricks environments and will be comfortable working across architecture, platform configuration, data engineering and governance.
A Databricks Professional certification is highly desirable, or candidates should hold Databricks Partner Professional (DPP) – Solutions Architect accreditation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support Databricks platform implementations, from initial configuration through to production.
- Configure Databricks workspaces, compute, clusters, networking, security and access controls.
- Design and implement scalable Lakehouse architectures using Databricks.
- Work with Unity Catalog for data governance, access control, discovery and lineage.
- Implement and configure Delta Lake and associated data storage patterns.
- Develop and support data pipelines using Databricks Workflows, Jobs and Delta Live Tables / Lakeflow.
- Work closely with data engineering teams around Apache Spark, Python and SQL.
- Configure integrations between Databricks and enterprise data platforms, cloud storage and other data services.
- Support CI/CD, deployment automation and infrastructure-as-code for Databricks environments.
- Establish appropriate security, monitoring, logging and operational processes.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout implementation.
- Troubleshoot configuration, performance, security and deployment issues.
- Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams and implementation standards.
