The Sub-Regional Infrastructure Director plays a key role in enabling new data centre capacity across EMEA. The role oversees the integration of Microsoft-owned technology systems, services, and critical infrastructure into newly built or leased facilities.
Acting as the connection between technical delivery and physical construction, the role ensures alignment across internal teams, landlords, construction partners, vendors, and Operations. It supports each project throughout its lifecycle—from planning and fit-out to operational readiness and the successful handover of the site to the business.

Responsibilities
- Management of support staff and the allocation of projects and scopes to the support and FTE IT Infrastructure Manager (ITIM staff)
- Coordination, sharing of proven practices, and lessons-learned management across ITIM Managers.
- The Sub Regional Infrastructure Director will be a relentless advocate for managing a safe worksite, supporting the implementation of the Microsoft High Risk Activity (HRA) program and work with our Construction PM to deliver trade collaboration methods to improve safe working and co-ordination of the job sites.
- The Sub Regional Infrastructure Director is responsible for coordinating internal Microsoft scope and resource efforts, requirements, and schedules to ensure a smooth and timely handover of the fitted-out Data Centre facility and capacity to the Microsoft Operations team and Business Groups.
- The Sub Regional Infrastructure Director will coordinate with the Data Center Engineering (DCE) team and supporting specialty consultants to review, improve and execute the design across the portfolio.
- The Sub Regional Infrastructure Director is responsible for the coordination of the telecom materials procurement, telecoms installation, Security systems installation, FFE procurement and installation across the portfolio.
- Coordination of the design, procurement, installation and turn up of the facility Corporate Network across the portfolio.
- In cooperation with the Construction Leads this position aligns metro wide delivery strategies to local team objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts.
- The Sub Regional Infrastructure Director will align with the Construction PM to agree delivery strategies across multi sites and manage a continuous improvement program that will result in a lean project delivery approach.
- The Sub Regional Infrastructure Director will be the responsible identifying and managing stakeholder dependencies and construction deliverables and handoffs for/with Microsoft Security (DCPS), Microsoft IT (CSE), DCI NE, Networking, and Integrated services.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND Significant years of related experience in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, OR equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience delivering data centre projects.
- Proven project management experience, leading complex projects from inception to completion.
- Proven people management experience, including leading and developing high-performing teams.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Construction Project Management M5
The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 70,300.00 - £ 133,900.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
