Datacentre & Cloud Engineer
We are recruiting a Datacentre & Cloud Engineer to support an international law firm's cloud, datacentre and office infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role with opportunities to take ownership of projects from technical design through implementation, alongside responsibility for complex third-line support.
The role can be based in Birmingham, London, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow or Edinburgh and offers a salary of £65,000-£70,000.
What you'll do
- Design, deploy, manage and optimise Microsoft Azure and on-premise infrastructure.
- Lead technical project work, contributing to solution design and carrying the implementation through to delivery.
- Use Infrastructure as Code and automation to provision and manage infrastructure.
- Investigate and resolve complex third-line infrastructure incidents.
- Improve availability, security, performance and cost efficiency across the environment.
- Support identity and access management, infrastructure monitoring and formal change-control processes.
- Work with developers, network engineers and other teams, explaining technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain technical documentation and support improvements to cloud-based monitoring and systems-management tools.

What we're looking for
- Current Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification.
- At least three years' experience in a similar enterprise cloud or infrastructure engineering role.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Azure resources, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Experience deploying and managing virtualised infrastructure, including VMware.
- Practical use of Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, PowerShell or similar automation tools.
- Experience with identity and access management technologies such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD and LDAP.
- Strong third-line troubleshooting skills and experience working with business-critical systems under formal change control.
- Clear examples of projects you have led, showing your personal contribution to both solution design and implementation.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with NetApp, Pure Storage or Cisco UCS, or an AZ-400 certification, would be advantageous.
