DataCore Engineer / Analyst (Financial Services)

Location: London / Hybrid (UK)
Contract: 6 Months
IR35: TBC
Start: ASAP

The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced DataCore Engineer / Analyst to join its Infrastructure team on an initial 6-month contract. You'll play a key role in supporting, maintaining and optimising the firm's enterprise storage platform, ensuring high availability, performance and resilience across critical infrastructure.

Working alongside infrastructure, platform and operations teams, you'll help deliver storage improvements, support ongoing projects and contribute to the stability of a highly available production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support DataCore SANsymphony storage environments.
  • Monitor storage performance, capacity and availability across enterprise infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related incidents and performance issues.
  • Configure and maintain storage replication, snapshots and high-availability solutions.
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations and storage refresh projects.
  • Work closely with server, virtualisation and network teams to deliver infrastructure improvements.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Participate in BAU support and project delivery across the storage estate.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with DataCore SANsymphony.
  • Good understanding of software-defined storage and storage virtualisation.
  • Experience administering SAN environments (Fibre Channel and/or iSCSI).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting VMware vSphere environments.
  • Understanding of storage performance tuning, replication and disaster recovery.
  • Experience working within enterprise production environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within Financial Services or other regulated environments.
  • Exposure to Azure or AWS infrastructure.
  • PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
  • Knowledge of backup technologies such as Veeam or Commvault.
  • ITIL awareness or experience working within IT Service Management frameworks.
