Contract Data Engineer | Reporting Migration & Data Warehouse

Up to £500/day (Outside IR35) | 6 Months | London (3 Days Per Week) | ASAP

We're working with a fintech business undergoing a major reporting transformation and they're looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to support the migration from a legacy reporting platform to a modern Azure/Microsoft Fabric environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Migrating reporting procedures from legacy systems to a new Foundation data platform.
  • Managing schema mapping, transformations, and reporting validation.
  • Building and improving ETL pipelines across multiple data sources.
  • Designing Fact and Dimension models using Kimball principles.
  • Introducing GitHub version control and engineering best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong SQL and Data Engineering background.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, schema mapping, and data modelling.
  • Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI experience.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Comfortable working independently in fast-moving environments.
