Daycare Manager

Location: South East Oxfordshire

Hours: 8:00am - 3:00pm (some flexibility available)

Days: Part-time - Wednesday & Friday

Salary: £14.70 per hour

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established charity that provides award-winning, engaging and stimulating daytime support for people living with dementia. Through music, crafts, games, social activities and companionship, they help people remain active, connected and independent while offering valuable support to their families.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, enjoys leading a small team and wants a role where every day has purpose.

The Role

As the Daycare Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day running of a welcoming dementia day service, ensuring every visitor enjoys a safe, stimulating and enjoyable experience.

You'll inspire and support staff and volunteers, maintain high standards of care, oversee the smooth operation of the service and ensure all policies and procedures are followed.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time both supporting clients and leading your team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the day centre.
  • Welcome and support new service users and their families.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that encourage independence, confidence and social interaction.
  • Lead, motivate and support staff, volunteers and students.
  • Ensure excellent standards of care are maintained at all times.
  • Complete day-to-day administration and record keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and safeguarding requirements.
  • Promote dignity, respect and person-centred care.
  • Act as a positive role model for the team.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the service.

About You

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and has the confidence to lead by example.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within health, social care or a dementia-related setting.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A caring, compassionate and patient approach.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Good administrative and IT skills.
  • A flexible and positive attitude
