Role Description

Day Opportunities Support Workers

Provide person-centred support to individuals attending day services, helping them to engage in meaningful activities and develop life skills. This full-time, on-site role based in Sale involves assisting people with daily routines, social and recreational activities, and community participation, while promoting independence and choice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring wellbeing
  • Following care and support plans
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Ensuring safe, respectful practice at all times

Day Opportunities Support Workers collaborate with colleagues, families, and other professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support. The role also involves contributing to a positive, inclusive environment that encourages confidence, interaction, and personal growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience in support work or similar care roles, with a strong commitment to person-centred practice (Support Workers).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust and engage with people of diverse backgrounds (Communication, Interpersonal Skills).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and safe working practices, with an ability to follow relevant policies and procedures (Safeguarding).
  • Respectful, inclusive approach with an understanding of dignity, choice, and confidentiality in care settings.
  • Willingness to undertake training and development; relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) are an advantage.
  • Flexibility to meet service needs, including occasional evening or weekend work if required.

Requirements:

  • A valid UK driving licence is desirable.
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable people.
  • Able to commit to 30+ hours per week.
  • The role guarantees a minimum of 30 hours weekly, with opportunities for extended hours.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and collaborative teamwork are fundamental.
  • You will uphold person-centred care standards and maintain rigorous safeguarding compliance.
  • Must possess unrestricted right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not provided.
