About Us
New Horizons is a day service committed to providing high quality care without taking away independence. We promote equality, choice, independence, empowerment and personal development. We work with individuals to plan person-centred activities and personal goals.
We currently operate a 5-day service from Monday to Friday and provide a safe environment where people can regain their confidence and make new friends. Within the centre, we have an arts and crafts room, a gym, a lounge, a woodworking room and a sports area. We also have two adapted service buses which enable us to take individuals or groups out into the community to places of their choice.
Our services are soon to move locations (within Barry) and the successful candidate will be expected to work with the individuals we support to make sure everything goes smoothly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
