We’re Hiring: Hub Transport Operations Manager | Evri Premium

Location: Coventry

Salary: £50,000 + Benefits

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Lead a safe, compliant and high-performing transport operation

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join Evri Premium in Coventry, taking a key role in the delivery of a safe, legally compliant and cost-efficient transport operation.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll combine transport leadership, compliance, commercial awareness and data-led decision making to drive performance across a fast-paced operation.

You’ll lead and develop your team, maintain high operational standards and ensure we continue to deliver a first-class service for both our internal customers and external clients.

The role

As Transport Operations Manager, you’ll support the Transport Manager and wider Operations team in delivering against our service, cost, compliance and Health & Safety objectives.

You’ll use operational data to understand performance, identify root causes and drive improvement, while ensuring robust transport processes and standards are consistently maintained.

You’ll also play an important role in planning for Peak and changing operational demand, ensuring the right resource and transport plans are in place to deliver against forecasted volumes.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading and developing Shift Managers and their teams to deliver a safe, compliant and high-performing transport operation.
  • Supporting transport planning to deliver against performance, compliance and client service requirements.
  • Monitoring operational costs and performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and demonstrating strong cost control.
  • Using transport data and management information to identify trends, challenge performance and drive improvement.
  • Using vehicle telemetry to improve driving standards, fleet efficiency and fuel performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, Operator Licence requirements and internal standards.
  • Completing Health & Safety and quality audits, risk assessments and safe systems of work across Transport.
  • Producing detailed shift and performance reports, identifying root causes behind missed KPIs and implementing clear improvement plans.
  • Developing robust plans for Peak and changes in forecasted volumes, ensuring appropriate resource and transport capacity.
  • Driving consistent operational standards and continuous improvement across the function.
  • Leading regular 1:1s, performance reviews and team meetings to develop and engage colleagues.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to deliver excellent service.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced transport leader with strong operational knowledge and the ability to use data to influence decisions and drive performance.

You’ll bring:

  • A CPC National qualification, with the ability to be a named CPC holder on the Operator Licence.
  • Strong experience within transport operations and a detailed understanding of transport processes and compliance.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing operational teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to influence, challenge and improve performance.
  • Experience managing operational performance, costs and KPIs.
  • The ability to work independently and make confident decisions within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills and confidence working with transport management systems.
  • Experience with systems such as Isotrak, TMS and Tachomaster would be advantageous.
  • A full current driving licence.
