We're Hiring! Day Shift Supervisor – Bury St Edmunds Depot
Location: Bury St Edmunds Depot
Salary: £33,257 – £36,732
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday
Shift Hours: Typically starting at 13:00, dependent on operational volumes. Flexibility is required to meet business needs.

We're looking for a motivated and experienced Day Shift Supervisor to join our team at Bury St Edmunds Depot.

As a Day Shift Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our busy depot operation, supporting the Day Shift Manager and leading frontline teams to deliver against operational targets.
About the Role
Working as part of the Depot Management Team, you'll be responsible for supervising a team of Loaders, Sorters and Drivers, ensuring parcels are processed efficiently, safely and on time.

Our Day Shift, also known as the Twilight Shift, is particularly important in managing parcel returns and collections from our ParcelShop network.
You'll oversee a combination of permanent and agency colleagues, providing clear direction, supporting performance and maintaining high operational standards throughout your shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage a team of up to 30 colleagues, ensuring productivity and performance targets are achieved.
- Support the Day Shift Manager in delivering an efficient and effective depot operation.
- Monitor operational performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
- Coach, develop and support team members to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and security procedures.
- Produce and review business intelligence (BI) and management information (MI) reports to monitor performance.
- Manage operational priorities, deadlines and resources to ensure successful shift delivery.
- Address performance or conduct concerns appropriately, maintaining a positive and accountable working environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience supervising or managing teams.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions and manage competing priorities.
- Experience working to tight deadlines and achieving operational KPIs.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- An understanding of transport operations and relevant regulations.
- A flexible and proactive approach to meeting business requirements.

Desirable:
- Previous supervisory experience within logistics, warehousing, distribution or parcel operations.
- Experience managing both permanent and agency workforces.
