Role Description
The Daytime Wellness Cook/Chef is a full-time, on-site role based at South Planks Farm in Barton. The role involves preparing nutritious, seasonal menus that complement the farm’s aesthetic and wellness-focused ethos, with a strong emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Day-to-day tasks include planning and cooking daytime meals, developing wellness-focused dishes, managing kitchen preparation and cleanliness, and ensuring consistent food presentation. The Cook/Chef will collaborate with the wider team to support events, tastings, and customer experiences, while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. This position is suited to someone who enjoys creating thoughtful, health-conscious food in a creative, rustic environment.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience as a cook or chef, ideally in daytime service or wellness-focused, café-style or farm-to-table settings.
- Strong skills in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation, with an interest in nutritious, balanced, and seasonal cooking.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and kitchen organisation, including maintaining a clean, compliant, and efficient workspace.
- Excellent time management and teamwork abilities, with a positive, professional approach to serving guests and collaborating with colleagues.
- Ability to work on-site in Barton on a full-time basis, including flexibility to support farm events and varying service demands.
- Interest in wellness, sustainability, and locally sourced ingredients; experience in vegetarian, vegan, or special-diet cooking is an advantage.
- Relevant culinary training or certifications are beneficial but not strictly required if equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
