Actuary – PRT Consulting (London)
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a Defined Benefit (DB) Pensions Actuary to join their growing PRT Consulting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an actuary with strong DB pensions experience who is looking to develop their expertise in the fast-growing Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) market. Previous PRT experience is not required you'll gain exposure to buy-ins, bulk purchase annuities (BPAs), and wider PRT projects as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Model and implement defined benefit pension scheme liabilities.
- Configure and test benefit and actuarial calculations for buy-in policies.
- Support the production of buy-in quotations.
- Contribute to the development and testing of actuarial software solutions.
- Maintain the accuracy of actuarial assumptions and pension data.
- Work closely with consulting, administration, and technology teams to deliver client solutions.
- Support system integrations and reporting, including longevity hedging contracts.
- Deliver user training and provide ongoing technical support.

About You
- Newly/part-qualified actuary with 5+ years' relevant experience.
- Strong experience working with Defined Benefit pension schemes, including liability modelling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative approach with strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working with data and delivering high-quality outputs.

Desirable Skills
- Interest in technology, automation, or AI within actuarial work.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Exposure to Databricks or other modern data platforms.
