Overview
We're looking for a DC Administration Manager to take charge of a defined contribution administration service delivered through a third-party partner and an offshore team. You won't be doing the processing yourself. You'll be the one who makes sure it's done well, done on time and done with care.
What you'll actually do
- Own the whole journey. From benefit calculations to retirements, transfers and bereavements, you'll oversee every moment that matters in a member's life, and keep our partner honest about how it's delivered.
- Run the numbers, then act on them. SLAs, KPIs and performance reviews are your instruments. You'll spot the drift early, escalate with purpose, and get to the root cause rather than papering over it.
- Turn complaints into fuel. Every complaint is data in disguise. You'll find the pattern, fix the cause and make sure it doesn't come back.
- Lead people across time zones. You'll guide, coach and develop teams on and offshore, planning resource, spotting training gaps and building a culture where good enough never is.
- Be the trusted voice. Trustees, employers and advisers will look to you. You'll walk into the boardroom with a story the data supports, and walk out with their confidence.
- Keep us on the right side of the rules. Legislation, regulation, data protection, audit: you'll make sure the controls hold and the records are right.
- Shape what comes next. System upgrades, migrations, process improvements and the odd new business pitch will all land on your desk.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why this is different
Most administration roles are about keeping the machine running. This one is about making the machine better: more accurate, more human and more accountable. You'll have real influence, real visibility and a leadership team that wants to hear what you think.
If you've ever thought "pension administration could be so much better than this", here's your chance to prove it.
