CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Data Centre Building Operations Supervisor to join our successful Data Centre Solutions team based in London. As the post holder, you will be expected to have extensive understanding of Data Centre infrastructure (Electrical, Mechanical, and DC specific infrastructure). As the shift leader, you will be responsible for effective inspection, operation and maintenance of all associated assets within the Data Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate all M&E systems within the Data Centre in a competent, effective and efficient manner (including HV Electrical isolations/operations). Having due regard to business risk and energy use.
  • Making recommendations for improvement and providing concise technical reports when required.
  • Supervision of the data centre building management systems, and actioning all alerts and notifications.
  • Ensuring that all Specialist Sub Contractors visits are conducting works in line with approved Standard Operating Procedures/ MOP/PTW/Client change requests.
  • Act as the CBRE liaison with the Engineering Manager and Technical Manager for Client requests, providing technical building knowledge where required.
  • Operate within the Building Control Room, with the assistance of the Control Room Technicians.
  • Ensure that Specialist Sub Contractor worksheets are signed off where necessary, that quality of work has been inspected and recommendations are communicated to the Engineering Manager.
  • Accurately reporting of all completed work orders, including precise recording of any critical spares/stock items used during these tasks, producing concise reports to the Client where required.
  • Control of live incidents, creating incident reports and sending to Technical Management for review in a timely manner.
  • Act as the first escalation point to the Client, assisting where required.
  • Reviewing and preparing MOP's, SOP's and EOP's, Safe Systems of Works and associated risk assessments.
  • Completing the shift handover reports, ensuring that significant events or activities are noted and effectively communicated to oncoming shifts and CBRE management.
  • Champion and promote QHSE compliance activities, such as Hazard/Near Miss Reporting and regular Toolbox Talks.
  • Proactively attend nominated training courses as identified by CBRE management in line with DCS training matrix.
  • Contribute to a positive culture within the team, regarding personal development and training.
  • Provide leadership to the shift team and shift leader.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement of safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with relevant QHSE policy and procedures.
  • High Voltage Authorised Person.
  • Supporting training and development of shift technicians and apprentices.
  • Participation in engineering Quality Assurance process, to validate the standards of completed works.

Accountabilities:

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager.
  • To create an audit ready environment and ensure compliance is met in all areas.
  • Accountability to the CBRE Functional heads, as appropriate.
  • Line management responsibility for the shift leader.
  • No Purchase and Ledger Responsibility for the contract. However, should be financially aware and able to produce basic quotations for works.

Experience Required:

  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements and be able to supervise others on all aspects of day-to-day health and safety.
  • Must have experience working in a critical environment.
  • Must have valid or previous experience in high voltage (AP15) and 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Mechanical qualifications or be able to demonstrate good mechanical knowledge.
  • Team working and experience in customer facing situations, good communicator with a good level of computer literacy.
  • Experience in managing sub-contractors, running permit to work system and being accountable for others safety.
  • Flexible working with the ability to manage own workloads with little supervision.
  • Good commercial knowledge.
  • Good working knowledge of Data Centres. And experience in supervising a team.
  • LVAP / HVAP

Desirable Experience Required:

  • Health and Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • First Aid trained.
  • AP15 High Voltage
  • AP14 Low Voltage

  • Overtime: Rate 1.5x Mon- Sat and 2x Sunday
  • Working hours: Continental Shift Pattern 06:30 - 18:30 / 18:30 - 06:30
  • Holiday Entitlement: 20 Days
