About the Role
Mercer is seeking a DC Pensions Consultant to join our specialist team dedicated to delivering DC pension services to a wide portfolio of clients. Mercer boasts one of the largest fully integrated groups of DC experts in the UK, encompassing governance, scheme design, investment consulting, provider, and technical research and analysis.
This dynamic growth area within Mercer’s UK business is a key strategic focus, offering both successful pension and savings solutions for clients and career opportunities for talented professionals. Our team fosters a collaborative culture that enhances new business acquisition and maintains strong client relationships. This is a hybrid role, requiring at least three days per week in the office, enabling close collaboration with an experienced and supportive team while allowing flexibility.
Potential locations: London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham, or Edinburgh.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering the following key tasks:
- Serve as a lead investment consultant for mid-size to large clients, promoting our services.
- Provide support to lead consultants on our largest and most complex clients.
- Review work produced by analysts and junior consultants using Mercer’s software and tools.
- Assume wider client relationship management for certain clients.
- Manage clarity, budgets, and commercial relationships with clients.
- Offer support and advice to internal Mercer teams regarding defined contribution investments.
- Take proactive responsibility for revenue generation with existing clients and explore opportunities to expand service offerings from other lines of business.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates with:
- Proven experience in DC pensions consulting.
- The ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and provider contacts.
- Strong client relationship management skills.
- CFA qualification or the pursuit of a CFA designation.
