About the opportunity
GHC Capital Markets is looking for a Dealing Assistant to join our team at our head office in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career within financial markets. You do not necessarily need previous trading experience. We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the confidence to speak with clients and market counterparties.
The successful candidate will work closely with our traders, stockbrokers, fund managers and operations teams, gaining hands-on experience of how a financial markets business operates. As part of the role, GHC Capital Markets will sponsor the successful candidate through relevant professional qualifications, with the opportunity to progress towards becoming a trader.
Key responsibilities
- Liaising directly with market counterparties to ensure trades are agreed and settled in a timely manner.
- Working between the front and back office to coordinate trading and operational activities.
- Assisting traders, stockbrokers and fund managers with their day-to-day activities.
- Communicating with clients and counterparties to resolve trade-related queries.
- Helping investigate and resolve trading and operational issues.
- Ensuring information is accurately recorded and communicated to the appropriate teams.
- Supporting the wider dealing and operations teams as required.

What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Is confident communicating by telephone with clients and market counterparties.
- Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right.
- Is comfortable working with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Can prioritise effectively when dealing with competing demands.
- Is a quick learner with an interest in financial markets.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Has good written and verbal communication skills.
- Is comfortable working with numbers and financial information.
- Has a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
Previous experience within financial services, stockbroking, trading or investment operations would be beneficial, but is not essential.
