About the Role

You'll join a specialist Deals Tax team that works alongside transaction advisory professionals to provide tax support on a wide range of deals, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring projects, business recovery situations, and real estate transactions.

As part of a broader corporate tax network, you'll collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines to help clients navigate complex tax issues throughout the deal lifecycle.

Working with a diverse client base that includes multinational groups, private equity-backed businesses, entrepreneurial ventures, and owner-managed companies, you'll have the opportunity to work on varied and challenging projects while developing your expertise within a highly collaborative environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing high-quality advice on stamp taxes across a variety of transactions, including stamp duty, stamp duty reserve tax (SDRT), and land and buildings transaction tax (LBTT).
  • Working as part of a UK-wide stamp taxes team, advising on transactions involving real estate, corporate restructuring, financial services, private clients, listed businesses, and multinational organisations.
  • Conducting tax due diligence reviews, identifying tax risks, liabilities, compliance matters, and opportunities during acquisitions and disposals.
  • Advising clients on tax-efficient transaction structures and helping them navigate complex stamp taxes legislation and anti-avoidance rules.
  • Supporting transaction implementation, reviewing documentation and ensuring it aligns with the intended tax treatment.
  • Providing stamp tax advice in relation to IPOs, capital raisings, and other corporate transactions.
  • Assisting clients with pre- and post-acquisition restructuring projects.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external advisers to deliver effective commercial tax solutions.
  • Managing multiple projects and taking ownership of client engagements while contributing to the ongoing development of service offerings and technical expertise within the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
