Shropshire Council
Shropshire Council are looking for a suitably experienced Debt Recovery Officer to provide efficient and effective recovery of sundry debt and adult social care charges as a member of the Councils Debt Recovery Team.
The Debt Recovery Team sits within Finance. You will be joining a professional and supportive group of colleagues. The work within the team is interesting and varied, especially given the diverse range of services provided by the Council. The team prides itself on helping its staff to grow and progress within their careers and we have several examples of team members that have gained qualifications and moved onto more senior and leadership roles within the team.

Requirements
We are seeking a Debt Recovery Officer who has:
- Experience of working in debt recovery and managing a wide portfolio debtor accounts.
- Experience of using a debt recovery/sales ledger system.
- Working knowledge of debt recovery procedures.
- Competence in the use of IT including Microsoft packages.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with customers and other departments within the Council. You will have the ability to manage and resolve complex queries and identify the appropriate processes and procedures to follow and making judgements within these.
