Help clients simplify complex decisions through financial modelling and analysis
Programme Overview
On the Decision Modelling Graduate Programme, you'll shape the future with confidence by helping organisations make better business decisions through insight, analysis and modelling. You'll work in high-performing teams across a wide range of projects, using data, technology and critical thinking to solve complex challenges and support strategic, tactical and operational decision-making. As a Shaper of the future, you'll build your potential and make a real impact for clients and society whilst working towards a globally recognised qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).

- Analytical thinking - apply rigorous analytical techniques and structured financial modelling to turn complex business challenges into clear, actionable insights that support high‑impact decisions.
- Problem solving - break down complex transaction and strategic questions into robust, flexible models that help clients evaluate options with confidence.
- Ownership and accountability - take responsibility for delivering accurate, high‑quality work, proactively managing tasks and maintaining rigour under tight deadlines.
- Influencing and storytelling - communicate assumptions, outputs and insights clearly to clients and stakeholders, enabling confident, informed decision‑making.
- Digital fluency – develop excellence in tools such as Excel, VBA and data visualisation platforms to manipulate data and build models which enhance how insights are produced and shared.

What You Will Be Doing

- Use specialist modelling techniques to solve challenges for major companies.
- Take ownership of a range of diverse and complex projects, such as building high-profile transaction models for mergers, acquisitions & carve-outs, supporting senior stakeholders with planning, budgeting & forecasting processes, decision support modelling and more.
- Develop expertise in Excel and VBA programming to construct robust financial models that aid clients in decision-making, while also using various data manipulation and visualisation tools, such as Alteryx and Power BI.
- Communicate and collaborate with teams across EY and with clients across the globe, and support project management, proposals, business development activities and key deliverables.
- Develop your skills through hands‑on experience, coaching and formal learning.
