Role Description
The Decommissioning Project Manager will lead and coordinate the safe, efficient, and compliant decommissioning of energy assets throughout their lifecycle. In this full-time hybrid role based in Swindon, London, or Coventry, with some work from home possible, the individual will manage project planning, scheduling, and execution, including risk assessments, resource allocation, and budget control. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing contractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, and managing logistics and inspection activities related to decommissioning work. The role involves maintaining project documentation, reporting progress to stakeholders, and addressing technical and operational issues to keep projects on time and within budget. The Decommissioning Project Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, procurement, and commercial teams to optimize decommissioning strategies and support continuous improvement.

- Strong project management skills with experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering complex technical or industrial projects.
- Experience as an expeditor, including expediting activities to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
- Knowledge of inspection processes, quality assurance, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Logistics management skills covering coordination of transport, storage, and handling of materials and equipment during decommissioning.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and multidisciplinary teams in a safety-critical environment.
- Familiarity with energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects; experience in decommissioning or construction is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under time pressure.
- Relevant technical or engineering degree (or equivalent professional experience) and proficiency in project management tools and MS Office.
- Commitment to health, safety, environmental protection, and RWE’s sustainability values.
