Job Overview
Provide dedicated support to our contract; whether working as an officer, Front of House Staff or goods lift driver. If the candidate has a CCTV license coverage in the Security Control Room too.
- Ability to cover our site down in Chatham.
- To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.
- To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
Main Duties
Operations
- Familiar and knowledgeable of the site Job Descriptions Dedicated Security Relief Officer.
- To proactively observe the reception area for opportunities to assist with colleagues and guests.
- To be fully conversant with all standard operating and emergency procedures, ensuring an appropriate and professional response to any situation that arises.
- To proactively monitor building demise, recognising the behaviour of others, and to report any unusual activity immediately.
- To develop, and promote exemplary colleague relations in order to identify and escalate any security issues or improvements.
- To accurately report and record incidents or risks in a succinct and professional manner.
- To tactically manage any incident and give confidence to others that the situation is being dealt with effectively and efficiently.
- Liaise with clients and customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Providing a visible presence to deter unsavory behavior.
- Reassure the client that their employees and facilities are safe.
- Maintaining the highest standards of security whilst maintaining professionalism.
- Pinpoint suspicious behaviour and take remedial non-confrontational action.
- Taking responsibility for the security of the building entrances.
Training
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
- To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
- You are required to ensure you renew your license 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety
- Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
- To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous Security Experience at least - 1 year.
- SIA License - DS preferred.
- SIA License - CCTV - preferred.
- Good personal skills.
- Previous Admin and good computer literacy skills - beneficial.
- Previous knowledge of CCure - beneficial.
- Ability to cover our other site in Chatham.
