About the Role

  • Location: Remote (with periodic on-site visits/Travel required)
  • Department: Customer Success / Professional Services
  • Reports To: Director of Professional Services

The Dedicated Solution Service Engineer (DSSE) is a highly skilled technical expert from Corero Network Security, embedded directly within a customer’s organization to optimise, enhance, and evangelize the Corero products. This role bridges deep technical expertise with strategic business value providing proactive technical leadership, escalation management, and technical sales enablement to drive operational excellence and revenue growth. The DSSE operates as both a trusted advisor and a technical advocate, ensuring seamless solution performance and alignment with customer goals.

Key Responsibilities

Dedicated Technical Expertise

  • Serve as a consistent, embedded remote resource for assigned customers.
  • Conduct quarterly and ad-hoc on-site visits for system assessments and strategic discussions. As required by end customer and approved by Corero.
  • Deliver tailored recommendations to optimise Corero SmartWall ONE™ and CORE™ product lines.

Proactive Solutions Management

  • Monitor system health and performance, identifying risks before they impact operations.
  • Plan and execute software updates, patches, and configuration improvements.
  • Provide continuous feedback to SOC/Support and engineering teams to enhance reliability.

Advanced Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead resolution of complex technical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with Corero Account, support (TAC and SOC) and R&D teams on escalated issues.
  • Document and communicate findings for transparency and knowledge sharing.

Escalation Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for all technical concerns.
  • Ensure clear, timely communication across internal and customer stakeholders.
  • Track, report, and resolve escalations through structured processes.

Technical Mentoring & Knowledge Transfer

  • Provide guidance and training to customer technical teams.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Empower customer staff to self-manage routine maintenance and diagnostics.

Sales Enablement & Technical Evangelism

  • Partner with sales and account teams to articulate solution value and capabilities to tenant customers.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Identify and influence upsell or cross-sell opportunities through technical insight and trusted relationships.
  • Support pre-sales engagements with post-sales credibility to accelerate deal velocity.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineer, Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager).
  • Proven experience in technical selling or pre-sales support, including customer presentations, solution evangelism, or sales enablement.
  • Strong understanding of network security, infrastructure, and system integration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to travel for on-site customer engagements.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work under professional services guidelines for project delivery.

Preferred:

  • Experience with DDoS mitigation products such as Corero, Radware or Kentik or similar security solutions.
  • Certifications in networking or cybersecurity (e.g., GCIA, CISSP).
  • Demonstrated success in a post-sales or customer success engineering capacity.
