Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious with a milk supply pool of 2 billion liters of milk, drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties.

The Opportunity:

Our team in Ballyrashane are looking for a highly motivated Dedicated Technical Resource (DTR) to become the engineering and process expert within our busy site. This is a hands-on, influential role focused on maximising equipment performance, improving operational efficiency, reducing waste and ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams, you will play a critical role in machine reliability, problem-solving, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. What Does Success Look Like in This Role?

  • Act as the technical lead within your designated production area, driving equipment reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Maximise machine efficiency through planned maintenance, condition-based monitoring, and continuous performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health & safety, food safety, quality, and company compliance standards.
  • Carry out equipment inspections, identify potential failures, and implement preventative measures to minimise downtime.
  • Monitor product quality, non-conformances, waste, and verification quality measures, driving improvements across production processes.
  • Support the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), training operators, and developing standard operating procedures to improve equipment effectiveness.
  • Lead problem-solving activities, root cause investigations, and corrective actions to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Support capital projects, production trials, shutdown planning, and site audits while maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders.

What Will You Bring to the Role?

  • A relevant qualification such as ONC/OND in Engineering, C&G, or equivalent.
  • The ability to read and interpret specifications and diagrams and apply this in a working environment.
  • The ability to demonstrate experience of electrical and mechanical fault-finding/problem-solving.
  • Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and requirements.
  • A track record of root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office packages.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of managing projects within a manufacturing setting would be desirable.
