Defence Litigation & Recoveries Solicitor – Belfast, £Neg
Overview
A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Defence Litigation & Recoveries Solicitor to join its established Belfast team.
The successful candidate will ideally have 3–7 years’ PQE, with strong experience in defence litigation and recoveries, ideally gained within an insurance or defendant litigation environment. Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of defence litigation and recovery matters
- Handling insurance defence, civil litigation and recovery claims
- Managing claims from inception through to resolution
- Advising clients throughout the litigation process
- Drafting pleadings, court documentation, affidavits and interlocutory applications
- Conducting litigation across the High Court, County Court and Small Claims Court
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and other third parties
- Conducting settlement negotiations and progressing matters to resolution
- Providing regular updates and reports to clients
- Managing a busy caseload effectively and working to deadlines
- Working collaboratively as part of an established specialist litigation team

Essential Skills
- Qualified Solicitor with 3–7 years’ PQE
- Strong experience in defence litigation and/or recoveries
- Experience within insurance, civil litigation or defendant litigation
- Excellent knowledge of litigation procedures and court processes
- Strong drafting and client management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
- Commercial approach with strong attention to detail
