Compensation: £49,000 - £53,000 / year

Description

Are you looking to join a successful and growing organisation who are committed to creating a great safe place to work where all employees have the opportunity to contribute, grow and develop?

We're looking for an experienced Defence Sector Development Manager to help us identify where that growth exists, build the relationships that matter and create the opportunities that will drive future success. The role is national and can be based from any of our UK office locations.

This is not a traditional sales role. Instead, you'll operate at the earliest stages of the business development process, turning market insight into opportunity by identifying future demand, building strategic relationships and helping Portakabin establish a stronger position across the UK Defence sector.

We're looking for someone who already understands the Defence landscape and knows how to navigate complex stakeholder environments, ideally has direct experience from within the sector

  • Annual Salary: Up to £53,000 depending on experience
  • On-target annual bonus: Up to 10%, with the potential to earn up to a maximum of 20% based on business performance

  • Flexible working: With an expectation to be in one of our offices 3 days per week
  • Regular travel: Across the UK, including occasional overnight stays (typically averaging one night per week)
  • Permanent
  • Eligible for: Private Medical Scheme
  • Annual leave: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
