Location: London / Hybrid
Salary: Up to £35k + comms – OTE - £50k
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven Delegate Sales Executive to join a rapidly growing global events business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving delegate revenue and developing high-value VIP audiences across a portfolio of leading international events focused on innovation and technology within the insurance sector.
This is a target-driven sales position that combines new business development, relationship management, consultative selling, and audience development. You will engage with senior stakeholders across a variety of sectors.
Working closely with sales, marketing, and content teams, you will be instrumental in growing event attendance, identifying new opportunities, and strengthening relationships with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive delegate sales revenue and secure high-value VIP attendees across a portfolio of international events.
- Make high volumes of outbound calls to existing clients and prospective customers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets and industry sectors.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Use a consultative sales approach to demonstrate the commercial value of attending events.
- Secure senior VIP attendees, including insurers, MGAs, brokers, and investors.
- Encourage VIP engagement through sponsored roundtables, dinners, breakfasts, and networking opportunities.
- Achieve weekly and monthly sales and audience development targets.
- Research new companies, leads, market segments, and emerging industry opportunities.
- Identify potential new revenue streams and opportunities for growth.
- Upsell additional delegate places to sponsors and exhibitors.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, and forecasting information.
- Provide regular reporting and market intelligence to the wider team.
- Work closely with marketing, content, and conference teams to maximise event attendance.
- Represent the business professionally at industry events, networking functions, and VIP activities.
- International travel will be required as part of the role.

About You
We are looking for a confident, commercially minded salesperson who enjoys working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
You will ideally have experience within delegate sales, sponsorship sales, media sales, exhibition sales, or B2B events, with a demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience selling delegate places, sponsorship, media, or related B2B event products is essential.
- Experience working within a high-volume sales environment.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong telephone-based sales and business development experience.
- Understanding of the complete sales cycle, from lead generation through to conversion.
- Ability to generate leads through research and proactive prospecting.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and capitalise on sales opportunities.
- Excellent relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise opportunities effectively.
- Comfortable working towards ambitious individual and team targets.
- Experience using CRM systems; Salesforce experience would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel internationally when required.
