We are seeking an experienced Delegated Authority Underwriting Portfolio Solutions Manager to join our team.
The Team
The Delegated Authority & Portfolio Solutions team at AGCS manages and oversees our relationships with coverholders, Managing General Agents (MGAs), and other distribution partners who underwrite specialist insurance products on our behalf within agreed authorities. The team is responsible for driving the performance, governance, and growth of our delegated authority book across multiple lines of business — ensuring robust oversight, monitoring portfolio performance, and positioning AGCS as a leader in this fast-growing segment of the commercial and specialty insurance market.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Regional Head of Delegated Authority and Portfolio Solutions, you will contribute managing the book of delegated underwriting authorities and portfolios by executing the strategy to support underwriting and managing service offerings. You will support the management of the team and implement robust yet streamlined governance frameworks for arrangements whilst managing wide-ranging queries from the business, technical underwriting and operational processes.
Some Of Your Specific Responsibilities Could Include
- Lead oversight and management of active and new Portfolio Solution active accounts.
- Build and implement streamlined processes and procedures to accommodate increasing workload and growth of the portfolio.
- Oversee implementation of facility reporting system, Distribind Bordereaux management tools, ensuring the business has visibility on account performance.
- Collaborate closely with the Head on Key Strategic Account Partnerships to ensure seamless and effective management of facilities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Underwriters, Claims, Compliance, Finance, Actuarial, and operations.
- Act as an educator and primary support for underwriters on all technical, facility management, controls, and processes.
- Manage and review the deal structures, consulting and agreeing on non-commercial terms and monitor and manage in line with functional rules.
- Coordinate the onboarding of new MGA and facilities, as well as renewal contracts.
- Demonstrate strong data management skills and capabilities for data interrogation.

What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Preferably 5 or more years of experience in the Delegated or Portfolio Solutions market.
- Preferred background includes roles in Delegated Underwriting, Delegated Operations, Technical Operations, or similar.
- Preferably, an understanding of and capability to use Bordereaux Management Systems.
- Understanding of Xchanging preferred.
- Proven problem-solving, multi-tasking, and analytical abilities.
- Comfortable working both independently and in a remote environment.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask while maintaining focus on detail and quality of deliverables.
- A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential.
