Delegated Property Underwriter / Assistant Underwriter – Canadian & US Binders
London | 16–18 Month FTC | Competitive Completion Bonus
Hybrid
Salary £70,000 -120,000
An excellent opportunity to join a market-leading London Market Property team, working on an established and high-performing Canadian Delegated Authority portfolio.
We are looking for either an experienced Underwriter or a strong Assistant Underwriter with Delegated Property experience who can step into a long-term maternity cover contract of 16–18 months.
The initial focus will be on the renewal and management of an established Canadian Binder portfolio, working closely with senior Class Underwriters across pricing, risk selection, contract reviews and portfolio management. There is also scope to gain exposure to and support the US Binder account as the year progresses.
This could be particularly attractive to an Assistant Underwriter who has developed strong technical Delegated Authority experience and is ready to gain greater underwriting exposure within a leading team. Equally, we would be interested in experienced Underwriters who can quickly add value to the portfolio.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
