About Us

Fabled Labs is the leading specialist AI search consultancy for regulated businesses. We work exclusively with UK law firms, barristers' chambers, private healthcare providers, financial services, and technology businesses.

Our clients include a leading Mayfair private client law firm, a top-tier family law chambers, a boutique family law practice, and a wealth management firm. We are deliberately small. We cap our client list, and every account gets senior strategic input.

The work matters because the way people find professional advice is changing fast. A prospective client now asks ChatGPT or Perplexity whom to consult before they ever visit a website. Firms that are invisible in those answers lose the enquiry before the pitch begins. We call it the Front Door Problem, and solving it is what we do.

We are seven people, including contractors. There is no bureaucracy, no layers, and nowhere to hide.

The Role

You will run Fabled Labs day-to-day so that our founder can stop being the bottleneck.

In the first few months, you take over running the business:

  • Coordinating our specialist contractors
  • Owning the monthly delivery rhythm
  • Handling day-to-day client communications
  • Keeping the commercial admin tight

As trust builds, you start taking on the thinking:

  • Reading the data and forming a view
  • Turning a signal into a content brief
  • Helping decide what runs this month for which client

That half of the role grows over time, and how fast is largely up to you.

We are being deliberate about this because we have seen the alternative. Roles like this often collapse into pure administration, because admin always feels more urgent. We have structured the job, and the calendar, to stop that happening.

What You Will Own

  • Our team. Briefing, scheduling, and chasing six specialists across PPC, on-page SEO, data, PR, and development. You become the routing layer, not the founder.
  • Delivery rhythm. Every client sits on a defined monthly cadence. You own it end to end and make sure it lands on time, every month, without being asked.
  • Client communications. Day-to-day correspondence, scheduling, status updates, and expectation management with senior marketing and business development contacts at law firms and clinics. Every client email gets a same-day reply, even if it is a holding reply.
  • Reporting. Pulling data from Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, Searchable, and Google Ads into our monthly review pack. Over time, writing the first read on what it means.
  • Commercial admin. Invoicing, contractor agreements, supplier correspondence, client onboarding.
  • Quality control. The last read on everything that leaves the business, against our house style and the compliance rules that apply in regulated sectors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Your First Ninety Days

You are not expected to touch strategy in the first quarter. The measure of success at day 90 is simple:

  • Our founder has not touched contractor scheduling for a month
  • Every client received its full cadence on time
  • Nothing on the admin list is overdue

Get that right, and the more interesting half of the job opens up.

How We Will Start

The engagement begins with a paid trial month at a proper freelance day rate, working on real accounts with real deadlines. It is not speculative work, and it is not a discount period. It exists so that both sides can see the fit before committing, and we tell you that up front because we would want to know too.

If the month works, you move on to the employment terms. If it does not, you will have been paid fairly for good work, and we will both know quickly.

Who We Are Looking For

You have three to seven years in delivery, account management, or operations. Most likely at a small or mid-size digital or marketing agency, or in-house at a professional services firm. Agency-side experience matters here: you should already know how retainers, briefs, and contractor workflows run.

You have worked somewhere small enough that you regularly did things outside your job title. If you have only ever operated inside a clearly defined function at a large agency, this will be a difficult transition.

You are analytically literate. You can look at a Search Console export and see a pattern. You do not need to be able to build the data pipeline, and you will not be asked to.

You are comfortable with regulated clients. Direct experience of legal, healthcare, or financial services is a real advantage. If you have it, say so early.

You are organized in a way that other people can rely on without checking.

The Eight Things We Will Actually Assess

  • Dependability. You do what you said, when you said, without follow-up.
  • Ownership. You treat the business as yours. You fix things that are not your job.
  • Judgement. You will make calls without us. We need to trust the reasoning.
  • Attention to detail. A wrong figure in a report to a law firm is a trust event, not a typo.
  • Client focus. You will become the daily face of Fabled Labs to serious professional clients.
  • Confidentiality. You will handle sensitive legal and medical client information.
  • Time management. Six clients, six contractors, competing urgency. Nobody triages for you.
  • Learning agility. AI search changes materially every quarter. What you know today decays.

You will have no direct reports at the outset. You coordinate our team, which means you need to get things done through people who do not report to you.

This is a small business. Some weeks are unglamorous. If you need a predictable, structured, quiet working environment, you will not enjoy this, and we will not have done you a favour by hiring you.

Hours

Three days per week to start, moving to five as the business grows. We are open to how those days are shaped.

Salary

£35,000 to £45,000 pro rata depending on experience, reviewed at six months and again on the move to full-time.

Location

UK-based, with a commute to London for client meetings and team meetings, which is a hard requirement given the client data you will handle. We are London-centred, but the team already works remotely, so where you live within the UK is flexible.
