Northampton | £35,000–£40,000 + realistic £100k+ OTE
You know the best bit of recruitment? Finding brilliant people. You know the bit you could happily never do again? Cold BD.
Good news.
This is pure delivery.
No cold calling companies that definitely “don’t use agencies”. No pretending you’ve called to “introduce yourself”. No spending Wednesday afternoon emailing 47 hiring managers who will absolutely not reply.
Instead, you’ll spend your time doing the bit you’re actually good at: finding, speaking to and placing very good people into seriously good jobs.
And the numbers here are a bit silly.
Average deal sizes are $100,000+. Top billers are doing $1m+ a year.
So that £100k+ OTE isn’t based on someone having one miraculous quarter in 2019 and it somehow making its way into every job advert since.
This is a new Northampton office supporting an already established US business. You’re not joining some bloke, a laptop and a motivational quote about entrepreneurship.
The work already exists.

You’ll be supporting major US clients on high-value, retained assignments, working with the UK MD and senior leadership in the States.
That does mean your working hours will reflect the US market. Probably worth mentioning that now rather than mysteriously revealing it during the third interview.
You’ll have the chance to help build the Northampton office, influence its culture and take on more responsibility as it grows.
There’s also the opportunity to travel to the US - and potentially move there in future if that appeals.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll own the candidate side of high-value recruitment assignments across the US.
- Sourcing and attracting candidates through different channels and your own networks
- Talking to them like a human being
- Screening and interviewing people
- Understanding what they’re good at and what they actually want from their next move
- Building a proper network across the US market
- Managing candidate pipelines
- Keeping people engaged throughout the process
- Working closely with the US team to understand exactly what their clients need
