Delivery Director

Manchester | Hybrid (with regular travel to client sites across the UK)
£110,000–£140,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Our client is one of the UK's fastest-growing transformation consultancies, helping organisations solve complex business challenges through strategy, technology, AI, data and digital transformation.

Working with some of the UK's leading organisations, they partner with clients to design, deliver and embed large-scale transformation programmes that create lasting business impact. Their approach combines experienced consultants, specialist associates and outcome-focused delivery teams to help clients accelerate change, modernise operations and unlock new opportunities.

As the business continues to grow, they're looking for an experienced Delivery Director to join their Manchester leadership team.

This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to lead complex consulting engagements, build high-performing delivery teams and play a significant part in shaping the future of a rapidly growing consultancy.

The Role

As Delivery Director, you'll take ownership of the successful delivery of major consulting engagements, leading multidisciplinary teams whilst acting as the senior point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.

You'll oversee the mobilisation and delivery of large-scale transformation programmes spanning digital transformation, business change, technology delivery, AI adoption, operating model design and organisational transformation.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll balance strategic oversight with a willingness to get into the detail, solve complex problems and support delivery teams when it matters most. There is a genuine opportunity to progress into a broader Client Partner role as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful mobilisation and delivery of complex Consulting engagements.
  • Build, lead and develop teams of consultants and specialist associates across multiple transformation programmes.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for delivery, ensuring exceptional outcomes for clients.
  • Develop trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Oversee delivery quality, governance, commercial performance and resource planning.
  • Translate commercial agreements into effective delivery plans and resource models.
  • Identify and mitigate delivery risks whilst driving continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to support business growth and develop the consulting practice.
  • Create scalable delivery frameworks, standards and best practice.
  • Remain close to delivery, providing practical support and removing blockers where required.

About You

You'll bring a strong Consulting background along with the commercial awareness and leadership capability to successfully deliver complex transformation programmes.

You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience leading delivery within a management, business or technology consulting environment.
  • Experience operating at Senior Manager, Associate Director or equivalent level within a Consultancy.
  • A proven track record delivering complex business and technology transformation programmes.
  • Experience leading large Consulting teams across multiple workstreams and client engagements.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance client outcomes, delivery quality and commercial performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior client leadership.
  • A pragmatic, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing Consultancy.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
