Delivery Director - Retail/Consumer Products

We’re looking for a highly technical, proactive and people-smart Delivery Director with expertise in the Retail/Consumer Products industry to join our team in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex transformation programs, projects, multiple workstreams and working with both the local delivery team and the global delivery team.

In this role, you will be accountable for the overall project delivery, client satisfaction and management of expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time and within budget. You will be working alongside globally renowned and award-winning design, development and technology teams who are passionate about what they do and how they do it. You will play a key role in building strong business and technology relationships, take a ‘hands on’ approach to define, deliver and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, including hiring, mentoring and performance management with the ability to provide strategic direction, set goals and ensure the team's efforts align with the organization's data strategy
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously from initiation to delivery whilst prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools
  • Experience in building and leading geographically distributed delivery teams, including experience in working with client's distributed teams and defining the right target operating model
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their related services
  • Hands-on experience in technology and software engineering practices with ability to supervise and suggest competitive technical decisions and assure a winning mix of delivery practices applied on the project
  • Ability to present delivery strategies and progress reports to executive leadership
  • Self-motivated, reliable, able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines

Requirements

  • Oversee end-to-end client delivery from initiation through the entire project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery in line with EPAM processes
  • Manage client relationships and expectations, representing delivery at the governance level
  • Coordinate multiple activity streams and clients, ensuring seamless delivery across all aspects, including finance, sourcing, implementation and business outcomes
  • Work closely with multi-disciplined teams of product owners, architects, engineers and quality assurance to drive estimates, delivery plans and retrospectives
  • Proactively identify and manage engagement risks, escalating major issues early on
  • Participate in business development efforts for both existing and new clients, continuously identifying new opportunities
  • Engage in the entire pre-sales cycle, prepare client proposals, define implementation and design and present solution architecture and delivery statements of work

Nice to have

  • Experience in delivering large scale ecommerce projects using composable architecture; e.g. commerce tools
  • Experience of delivering data projects and proficiency in data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, data integration and data lifecycle management
