Location: West Midlands
Type: Hybrid with Client Travel
Salary: £100,000 - £125,000 per annum + Benefits
Overview of the role:
Looking for an exciting new challenge combining strategic thought and hands-on transformation?
We are looking for an experienced Delivery leader to lead a major strategic programmes within the Gas sector. This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a large-scale transformation initiative involving multiple delivery teams, complex stakeholders, and significant organizational impact.
You will be accountable for ensuring delivery excellence, maintaining strong client relationships at executive level, and enabling teams to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-moving and evolving environment.
The role combines programme leadership, commercial accountability, executive client engagement, and team leadership, with a highly hands-on and delivery-focused approach.
The programme is now moving into its next phase following the initial design stage, and the successful candidate will take ownership of this phase, leading the programme end-to-end from design through to implementation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of the next phase of the operating model transformation programme, working closely with client leadership.
- Establish and maintain effective delivery governance, reporting, risk management, and escalation structures.
- Ensure the programme is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic and commercial outcomes.
- Drive delivery excellence through strong planning, prioritisation, execution, and performance management.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, providing strategic insight and sector-specific expertise to support transformation goals.
- Take full leadership and accountability for the programme, acting as the primary escalation point for delivery matters and transitioning effectively from the current interim postholder.
- Lead the reorganisation of back-office functions and changes to work management structures.
- Lead the transformation of processes, systems, and people across the programme.
- Shape and implement a new operating model that increases direct labour delivery through the supply chain.
- Improve operational efficiency, service availability, and quality of delivery across the business.
- Analyse programme performance and translate findings into practical, deliverable solutions and improvements.
- Build a collaborative, high-performing team culture, mentoring, and developing delivery leaders within the programme.

What We're Looking For:
- Strong gas industry experience is highly desired — this role requires someone who understands the sector and the operational components.
- Proven experience leading large-scale operating model or business transformation programmes, ideally including work management, back-office, and supply chain change.
- Experience in investigation, analysis, and solution design within a complex delivery environment.
- A track record of driving measurable delivery improvements on large-scale programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the credibility to influence senior client teams and lead a permanent handover from an interim postholder.
- Strong ability to be hands-on as well as strategic.
- Experience driving high-performance and strong leadership across the team.
