IT Delivery Lead – LMS Replacement Programme
Contract: Initial 6 months, rolling – anticipated 12–18 months
Rate: Competitive
IR35: Outside IR35
Location: Hybrid – approximately 1 day per week onsite in either Cambridge or Macclesfield, per candidate location
Industry: Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
We are supporting a major global pharmaceutical organisation with a significant enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) replacement programme.
This is a senior technology delivery position requiring someone with extensive experience operating within pharmaceutical or life sciences environments, with particular expertise in delivering enterprise LMS or learning technology transformations within validated GxP environments.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the technology workstream, leading delivery across platform implementation, integrations, data migration, testing, validation, deployment readiness, and transition into service.
This is not a generic Project Manager position. We are looking for a highly experienced delivery leader who understands the complexities of implementing learning technology within a regulated pharmaceutical environment and can operate credibly with senior business, technology, quality, and compliance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technology delivery for a major enterprise LMS replacement programme.
- Own the integrated technology delivery plan, roadmap, dependencies, and critical path.
- Lead delivery across platform configuration, integrations, environments, data migration, testing, and deployment.
- Embed GxP validation and compliance requirements throughout the technology delivery lifecycle.
- Lead and coordinate Computer System Validation (CSV) activities, including validation strategy, requirements traceability, qualification testing, defect management, and validation evidence.
- Partner closely with Quality, Compliance, and Validation teams to ensure the platform remains inspection and audit ready.
- Coordinate internal technology teams, implementation partners, suppliers, and programme stakeholders.
- Manage programme RAID, governance, reporting, financial controls, and delivery assurance.
- Work closely with business and L&D stakeholders to align technology delivery with business readiness, training, deployment, and adoption.
- Lead service transition, operational readiness, hypercare, and post-deployment stabilisation.
- Identify opportunities to utilise AI, automation, and digital technologies to improve programme delivery and operational effectiveness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
