A day in the life

We're seeking an experienced delivery leader to join our expanding organization. The Delivery Lead is accountable for end-to-end delivery leadership of complex, multi-domain programs and large projects across Product/Domain and Engineering teams, ensuring governance, workstream structure, cross-squad dependencies, schedule, and budget execution are aligned and executed successfully. Reporting into the Head of Program Delivery, you will lead the delivery for the specific programs you own and serve as the senior delivery decision-maker and escalation point for those programs. This role provides delivery leadership through a mix of direct people management and matrix leadership: managing and developing Delivery Managers and Delivery Analysts supporting your programs, and leading across engineering, product, BA, and operations teams to drive predictable outcomes.

In partnership with product/domain leads and engineering leadership, you will set delivery direction across squads, drive predictable execution using Agile / Scrum / Lean practices, and serve as the senior delivery decision-maker and escalation point for program delivery issues.

This role balances strategic delivery governance and stakeholder accountability with hands-on engagement in tactical execution, dependency management, and release readiness.

  • Develop and manage integrated program roadmaps, workstream plans, and delivery governance (cadence, decision forums, escalation paths).
  • Structure and integrate workstreams across squads/teams; delegate delivery management activities appropriately, and manage cross-team dependencies, critical path, and delivery commitments.
  • Own program-level risk, issue, decision, and action tracking (RAID); drive mitigation and escalation to protect outcomes.
  • Lead planning and execution for releases and cutovers, ensuring operational readiness, runbook inputs, and go/no-go criteria.
  • Partner with Product/Domain leads to align delivery plans to priorities and outcomes; ensure transparent, executive-ready reporting on scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Lead program-level stakeholder forums and steer delivery decisions by framing options, trade-offs, and recommendations; drive alignment across business sponsors, product/domain leaders, and technology leaders for your programs.
  • Influence partners within and outside of the immediate delivery organization (product, engineering, operations, vendors) to adopt agreed delivery practices and resolve program-level blockers.
  • Coordinate vendor deliverables and SOW milestones in partnership with procurement/vendor owners; address performance risks and delivery blockers.
  • Drive continuous improvement within your programs by applying delivery standards, templates, and tooling; identify improvement opportunities and partner with the Head of Program Delivery to evolve broader practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
