Role Title: Delivery Lead
Duration: contract to run until 29/03/2027
Location: Sheffield. Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite
Rate: up to £495.88 p/d Umbrella inside IR35
Role purpose / summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Delivery Lead to oversee the successful delivery of complex business and technology initiatives within a fast-paced enterprise environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing delivery roadmaps, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires a strong blend of leadership, stakeholder management, governance, and delivery expertise. The Delivery Lead will act as the key point of coordination between business stakeholders, technology teams, third-party suppliers, and senior leadership to ensure alignment of objectives and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects and workstreams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, roadmaps, milestones, and dependencies across complex programmes.
- Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Facilitate collaboration between business, technology, architecture, infrastructure, security, and operational teams.
- Drive effective governance and reporting processes, providing clear and accurate updates to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure delivery teams adhere to agreed methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Monitor project performance through key metrics and KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure optimal utilisation of project teams.
- Support financial management activities, including budget tracking, forecasting, and cost control.
- Coordinate with external vendors and third-party suppliers to ensure successful delivery of contracted services.
- Lead project and programme steering meetings, workshops, and executive governance forums.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, governance frameworks, risk requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Delivery Lead, Programme Delivery Manager, Senior Project Manager, or similar role within a large enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of project and programme delivery methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
- Demonstrable experience managing large-scale technology and business transformation initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior executives.
- Experience managing complex delivery dependencies across multiple teams and functions.
- Strong governance, risk management, and reporting experience.
- Experience overseeing project budgets, forecasting, financial tracking, and resource management.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience
- Financial services or banking sector experience is highly desirable.
- Experience delivering regulatory, risk, cybersecurity, data, or digital transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of technology platforms, cloud services, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with IT service management and operational frameworks.
- Experience working within highly regulated environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Agile, Scrum Master, SAFe, PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, or equivalent
